Advertising Murals

I worked at an Outdoor Advertising firm in New York from 10/88 through 10/98 as a "Pictorial Bulletin Painter" where I pulled off more than seven hundred advertising signs and murals. (Name listed below)

Most of the more creative designs I made sure I got photos of, there are only a few examples of these on my web site, however there were literally hundreds done that I never even bothered to photograph and have frankly forgotten.

I had the chance to paint from alot of excellent modeling photography ...much of which had been done by some of the best photographers working with big ad houses in Manhattan. I have alot more examples in my book than on this website.

I also had the opportunity to work with some of the "old-timers" in outdoor sign painting where I gathered several generations worth of "tricks of the trade".

The vinyl panaflex printing process eventually made the job title "Pictorial Bulletin Painter" obsolete, the first Outdoor Ad painters were working on the train routes as early as the 1880's, So the job title lasted about a hundred years. Alot of my portfolio on kenyonart.com is from that job.
